To decide if one number is greater than, equal to, or less than another number.

Count

Say the number names in order.

Most

The greatest in number.

Fewest

The smallest in number.

[Display 6 to 10 objects that are clearly blue or clearly not blue.] How can you classify these objects into the groups Blue and Not Blue?

The students identify the blue objects and put them in one group. They put all other objects in a separate group.
